Palestine Solar and Sustainable Society (PSSES) organized in collaboration with the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation – CCHP the second Workshop on 12th Janaury 2022 at the CCHP offices, Participants from the local steering committee (Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority PENRA, Environmental Quality Authority, Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Local Government, NGOs, and Private Companies attended the workshop.
Arch. Issam Juha opened the workshop welcoming the guests. He gave a speech on the Beep project, highlighting the achievements of the project and the efficiency of the energy gets a global trend.
Eng. Anwar Hilal, Eng. Anwar talked about the BIM Model and energy scenarios (long, medium and short term) that have been developed, and the importance of cooperating today in order to participate in taking the appropriate and stimulating directions for the adoption of energy efficiency in all buildings and the adoption of appropriate laws and regulations from all relevant authorities.
A discussion was opened about the stakeholders role in applying the BIM model in the Public buildings in Palestine to reach a sustainable goal zero pollution and more exploitation of the renewable energy.
Arch. Eyad Abo Zalaf and Eng. Yazan Shamroukh explained in details the project activities and BIM modeling energy efficiency scenarios that were applied on the Public building as a case study and why these scenarios were chosen and their compatibility and heritage significance, in addition to a comparative assessment of the energy retrofit scenarios.
The opportunities, impediment and challenges of the EPC in Palestine was presented, and the compatibility of the developed model with the relevant Palestinian legislation and laws was also discussed.The participants asked several questions on how to apply the BIM model on the public buildings in Palestine and disseminate and replicate the outcomes of the project. In addition to, to adopt this model in the Energy strategy and energy efficiency policies.
The participants raised the importance of applying the EE-HBIM model in tackling the climate change problems.
