Street Lighting in Wadi Al-Nar Using Solar Energy

Project Summary and Objectives:

Providing lighting for a 5-kilometer stretch of the vital road in Wadi Al-Nar using solar-powered streetlights. The project aimed to transform one of the major roads connecting southern provinces to the northern and central provinces, and the Jordanian border, into a safer and less hazardous route for driving. This is particularly important as Wadi Al-Nar road is known to be challenging and poorly lit during the night, especially in the winter season.

Providing Clean Water to Schools in Rural Areas Using Solar Energy

Project Summary and Objectives:

The four-stage project aims to target four schools facing issues of excessive water pollution in four rural areas in the Jordan Valley region of Palestine (areas: “C” – Fassayil, An Nuayimah, Jiftlik, and Furosh Beit Dajan). The project aims to provide a water purification system for each school.

Renewable Energy Advocacy and Promotion Campaign in Palestinian Territories

Project Summary and Objectives:

The project aims to bring together all relevant stakeholders in the field of renewable energy through organizing workshops, information sessions, and training sessions, thereby engaging investors from the public and private sectors and families interested in investment. The main policy objective is to advocate for a new legal framework in the field of renewable energy and develop a sustainable incentive policy that can benefit all Palestinians in the long term. This makes the two main objectives:

  1. Encourage 50 non-governmental organizations and stakeholders to support the establishment of a new legislative framework for the use of renewable energy after participating in the project workshops.
  2. Have 1000 stakeholders and experts sign a petition urging the government to create a new legislative framework for the use of renewable energy.

Raising Awareness and Advocacy for Renewable Energy Policies in Service of Sustainable Development

Project Summary and Objectives:

The overall objective of the project is to raise awareness about renewable energy and effectively engage the Palestinian public in the use of renewable energy, particularly solar energy, for grid-connected electricity generation under the Palestinian Solar Energy Initiative. There are three strategic objectives: increase awareness in the field of renewable energy, advocate for renewable energy legislation, and build the capacity of the Solar and Sustainability Association.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) for Increased Efficiency in the Public Sector (BEEP)

Project Summary and Objectives:

The BEEP project is funded by the European Union ENI CBC Med initiative, aiming to promote the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to enhance energy efficiency in buildings. Throughout the project’s lifespan, this emerging technology will be tested on heritage buildings to showcase its scalability to cover the entire building fleet. The primary output of the project will be an innovative methodology based on integrating tested emerging technology into heritage public buildings. The BEEP project includes 8 partners from the European Union and the Mediterranean under the leadership of the Institute for Cultural Heritage Sciences (ISPC, Italy) with the Solar and Sustainability Association in Palestine as a partner.
